How we started

Heathrow Transmissions have been rebuilding BMC/BL transmission units for road & track since 1989 for both trade & retail customers at their base In West London which is a small family run business started by time served Ex Henleys British Leyland mechanic Gary Bradley, who started rebuilding transmission units from 1975 while working at Henleys. Since 1992 thousands of Transmission units have left the workshop in Hounslow being sent all around the world with Gary focusing on the differential & axle side of the business. While his son Pete who started working at HT in 2012 builds the majority of the gearboxes & overdrives.


Our main strengths are A-series & B-series RWD transmissions for BMC/BL cars for either road or track use, many of our competition units have been used in the Goodwood Revival are we our the sole supplier for the Austin HRDC A30/A35 Academy series. We can build your unit to how you want it to be using high quality crown wheel & pinions that can be set up to factory specification or built using a Quaife ATB or a 3J LSD adjusted to your requirements from road use to full track.
